Wise Owl

First up I created a colourful cluster of flowers, that were coloured with Copics and then given a coating of Wink of Stella brush glitter pen.

Next I made a fun bookmark for my son, once again colouring with Copics. The apple is coated in Glossy Accents.I heart books | Marion Vagg

And finally I water coloured the Wise Owl with Distress ink and made a tag. On the back it says “This book belongs to…” I couldn’t resist the googly eyes.Wise Owl | Marion Vagg

New challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps

I’m back with a new sketch for the AnnaBelle Stamps monthly challenge.

ac180

Today I’ve created a fun water coloured boat scene. Perfect for a little boy’s birthday. The boat is from the Boy’s Party Stamp set and the sentiment is from the Beside the Sea Stamp set. I had fun getting very inky with this one.

Faux Hand Painting

I’m back with another card for the Online card class – Watercolor for Cardmakers.

WC_participant

I have been totally inspired and simply blown away by both of Dawn Woleslagle’s watercolouring techniques shown on Day 7 and 8 of class. I hadn’t thought to do this technique, but since watching, I can’t stop. I’m addicted! I stamped the images in Distress ink and then I painted over the top with water. I had fun and I felt like a real painter!

Watercolour and Woodgrain @ Muse

Hello. It is my turn this week at the Muse Card Club.

muse_logo

I have been playing around with some watercolours – and feeling like a real painter, which I am far from mind you! I think the finished focal point looks like a tile. I struggled with the placement of the sentiment, so I left it off.

Marion Vagg | Watercoloured tile

Here are some of the guidelines if you are unfamiliar with how Muse works.

  • Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse.
  • Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member’s submissions.

Creative colouring with watercolours

Yes, me again…lots of posting due to the online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3.

CS3_paticipant

Today I tried some creative colouring techniques. I took Jennifer’s Rsaza water-colouring idea and modified it by creating a background rather than an image. Yep, all artsy and free form from me today. It started out being a one layer card, but I had to trim it in the end, so its almost a one layer card 🙂

Happy Birthday | Marion Vagg

Iron off Embossing technique

I’m back with some more cards for the online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3.

CS3_paticipant

For these cards, I have used a new technique for me – iron off embossing as shown by Jennifer McGuire on Day 5. I tried two different colour schemes. Now if you are a one layer purist, these are not one layer cards, but as I didn’t add the watercolour panel on with any foam dimensionals, it is close enough for me.

Friend | Marion Vagg

And this is the FIRST time I have used sequins on a card. I am not usually a fan of sequins, but I thought they added something to the cards.
