Hummingbird

Good evening!

I recently got some new Hero Arts stamps that have been waiting patiently to be inked up….and I also tried the ‘kissing technique‘ that has been shown on the Hero Arts blog of late. Such fun! I am definitely in love with my new HA Envelope pattern woodblock stamp!

I would love to say that I came up with the  layout for this card…but alas, I did not! I cased this card from Kerry Cox…I loved the simplicity and elegance of her card.

and a close up of the “kissing”…

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Flower Bird Garden (CG270), Hero Arts Envelope Pattern (S5507)
Ink: Versacolor cubes – Opera Pink and Bark
Card: Regal Craft Card (square white single fold), White bazzill card
Other Supplies: Carl Craft punch – Kikyou, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, Fiskars cutting board and scoring stylus, Spellbinder nesties – label 2, cuttlebug, embossing mat, foam dimensionals.

This is first time I have used an embossing mat with my nesties! I now have 2 sets…and am wanting more!!

Thanks for looking,

Marion

Baby cards

Baby girls seem to be the flavour of the month in my world so I searched through my papers for some pretty pinks and this is what I came up with! The cute image is a digistamp from a set called Simply Baby Collection from the Digistamp Boutique. Cute digis with so many possibilities.

I am loving the simplicity of this first one – I printed the image and the sentiment straight onto the card and then a little paper pieced dress with some pearls and some scored lines – done!! The pink dotty paper is so beautiful – I bought it from my local craft shop but have no idea of the brand – it is an Australian made cotton paper – so soft and fun to play with!!

A close up of the paper piecing.

And the second one…I am not a huge  fan of this one, but I’ll post it anyway! I added some kindyglitz to make it sparkle!

I am entering both of these cards into the DigiStamp Boutique February competition.

Flower card set

Hi there,

I was meaning to post this last week, but I have returned to teaching (2 days a week) after having 13 months off…so I have been SUPER busy!

My Mum asked me to make a set of cards for her friend who is turning 50, so I made a set of this card I posted recently…I just had fun experimenting with different colours. I also bought a box to put them all in and covered it to match the set. (Originally the box had Disneyland princesses all over it!) I am really pleased with the finished product.

Sorry about all the photos, but I wanted to show you all the different colour combinations I came up with!

And finally the matching box…

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Stencil Flower cling stamp, Practicing Creativity – Just Dandy
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress inks – Broken China,  Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Old Paper, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), X-press It blending card, white card
Other Supplies: Copic markers, uniball white gel pen, foam dimensionals, S.E.I buttons, Kitchen twine, glossy accents (to adhere the buttons), Fiskars cutting board and scoring stylus, box

Well there you have it. We are having a heat wave at the moment….it was 40 degrees here yesterday!!

Until next time,

Marion
